Dissident Botany: On Barricades and Rosa Luxemburg’s Herbarium

<p>In this conversation I talk with visual artist, educator and independent researcher Milena Bonilla about her work on the herbarium of Rosa Luxemburg and the many connections to epistemologies anathema to capitalism as well as historic and present-day struggles. Throughout her work, Bonilla has researched how the dismissal of the spiritual and other meanings of plants have cause a lot of violence in the world. Taking Luxemburg as an example, we examine how listening to plants and elements that are considered silent in western thinking, is both an act of resistance as well as care.</p>
