TELL PRINTED MATTER TO ENDORSE PACBI NOW
<p>Circulated at the 2024 NY Art Book Fair by members of 8 Ball Community and the Printed Matter Union, this flyer implored visitors to sign a petition demanding that Printed Matter endorse PACBI, the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel, and that its Executive Director, Lesley Martin, reverse Printed Matter’s February 2024 decision against joining PACBI. </p> <p>The petition equates the silence of Printed Matter and other cultural institutions with “the passive endorsement of the permanent annihilation of Palestinian culture” and cites Other Publishing’s insistence that “institutions exist for the people and to be in action in the NOW, not just to be empty mausoleums for the ghosts of ‘radical praxis.’”</p>
